Laure Heland, PhDMy work focuses on integrating research, design and teaching and explores the relationship between ecology, the built environment and community led participatory process. I teach research methods, perceptions and integration of nature in design classes, and co-direct community-based study abroad programs, with Traction and the UW South Asia Center.
I collaborate with the Green Futures Lab and as Director and co-founder at the Integrated Ecology Lab, to develop research programs on urban ecological design and planning, and Policy-making. I also create environmental consulting, training programs and workshops for professionals, scholars, communities and local authorities. I am an Affiliate Associate Professor in the Department of Landscape Architecture at the University of Washington, Seattle, USA since 2015. Previously, I was an Associate Professor at the National School of Architecture of Paris La Villette (France). Projects |
